The Facilities/Maintenance Department is responsible for providing routine, preventive, corrective, and unplanned maintenance and support services for the administration building, manufacturing building, and all equipment within these facilities. The Facilities department is directly responsible for administering and maintaining the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) utilized to plan and track asset control and maintenance so as to ensure the reliable, efficient and sustained operation of the facility and all equipment. Additionally, through daily tasks, Facilities supports current project operations and site goal objectives and ensures compliance with regulatory, corporate and site requirements.


  • Uses the CMMS system to review work requests, identify required stock and non-stock materials, ensure availability, performs work orders to completion, and maintains associated equipment log books.

  • The Facilities Maintenance Technician performs preventative and corrective maintenance. The Maintenance Technician will troubleshoot, with minimal supervision, complex utility systems which may include Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC), electronic control systems, electrical, compressed air and gases, Reverse Osmosis (RO), waste water treatment, and/or other Biotech/pharmaceuticals utilities.

  • Further duties may include performing preventative and corrective maintenance on manufacturing process related equipment such as agitators/mixers, chromatography columns, glass washers, and various sanitary design pumps and valves within a cleanroom environment.

  • The Facilities Maintenance Technician also interprets drawings, layouts, wiring diagrams, and specifications in planning and performing maintenance and repairs. The Facilities Maintenance Technician is involved in new equipment and plant systems installs as necessary. They also provide day to day technical assistance to the Engineering Services, Metrology, and Validations groups.

  • The Facilities Maintenance Technician also participates in authoring accurate documentation for the operation and maintenance of various utility systems. They also supply information and technical data for securing spare parts. The Facilities Maintenance Technician assists in general facility up keep and provides responsive customer support with emphasis on customer satisfaction.

  • Assist qualifying vendors for external calibration services and review calibration certificates.


  • Must have HS diploma and 5 years of experience working in a maintenance role

  • 2 year technical degree in related field with less experience may be considered

  • Experience working independently with little to no supervision

  • Ability to gown and gain entry to manufacturing areas

  • Ability to wear appropriate PPE and enter Utilities work areas

  • Experience working for a maintenance organization in a CGMP Biotech/Pharmaceutical manufacturing environment

  • Licensure any of the following areas: Refrigeration/Air Conditioning or Electrical is a plus.

  • Computer software skills, organization, record keeping and planning as well as general knowledge of navigation through software programs for CMMS, QMS, email, etc.

  • Ability to legibly complete paperwork and maintain critical records for proper document control.

  • Able to prioritize scheduled work. Self-motivated, applies knowledge, and skills to other areas within the department; provides technical guidance and training to others. Anticipates and solves complex production/operational problems

  • Individual needs to have "Self-starter" attitude and ability to learn and understand new equipment or instrumentation.
