This leader develops resource plans across multiple disciplines within the facilities area. The Manager works collaboratively with site leadership to develop operational budgets and manage key performance metrics.    The manager develops and implements key strategic policies and procedures relating to the CMMS (asset management, calibration, preventative maintenance, unplanned maintenance), Facility Operation, Calibration and overall maintenance activities. The Manager provides substantial technical support to the groups of the organization.  Facility responsibilities include, but is not limited to, asset management, calibration, preventative maintenance, unplanned maintenance, Facility Operation, Calibration, EHS and overall maintenance activities.  The position requires superior leadership behaviors of Matica expectations, as well as expertise in functional competencies included in this position profile.


  • Select, develop, and motivate qualified staff to effectively carry out department functions and provide for the continuity of managerial and specialized skills.

  • Provide career development and guidance to direct reports. Identify training requirements/needs and job-related qualifications.

  • Provide leadership, guidance, and direction to staff consistent with cGMP and company corporate quality governance.

  • Coach and mentor staff in all aspect of their job performance and career development including training, feedback, rewards and disciplinary action.

  • Develop work plans, assign tasks, and supervise team(s).

  • Ensure staff has appropriate knowledge of department processes and procedures.

  • Coordinates and directs the design, planning, construction, maintenance, and alteration of equipment, machinery, buildings and other facilities.

  • Ensures compliance with environmental regulations and works to reduce physical hazards in the facility by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.

  • Initiates the transfer of care, custody and other activities from the facility construction engineering firm to Mentor for a newly constructed facility.

  • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the facility unit. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies, procedures and applicable laws.

  • Primary contact for after-hours Building Automation System call-out alarms.

  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.


  • Minimum of 5 years direct job-related experience in managing a GMP facility manufacturing product(s) regulated by CBER or CDER.

  • Desired candidates will have experience in an FDA regulated Biologics manufacturing facility with EHS knowledge.
