JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a Human Resource professional to join the team in an exciting, high-impact role where they will serve as the leader of HR. We are looking for an HR leader with a track record of building relationships, teams and cultures that help innovators thrive; creating community and a sense of belonging for site-based and remote employees.

RESPONSIBILITIES

​Strategic HR/Corporate roles and responsibilities (50%)

  • Partners with company leadership to evaluate organizational needs and priorities to design and establish the human resource function in a dynamic and fast-paced organization.

  • Develops, plans, leads, coordinates, and implements programs, policies, processes, training, and other initiatives, to support the organization's human resource compliance and strategy needs.

  • Designs and leads a comprehensive talent management and leadership development strategy, including the identification of high potential talent and evaluation. This includes identifying leadership gaps and devising appropriate development plans and succession.

  • Facilitates organization and leadership development efforts, working with employees and managers to address root causes of human resources issues.

  • Develops and drives company-wide programs and initiatives (e.g., salary review, stock option grants renewal, workforce planning, health benefits, and organizational change).

  • Often viewed as a strategic business partner, change agent, and member of the line management staff.

  • Establish and maintain credible relationships across the company, while serving as a senior advisor, counsel, and confidante to the leaders and their respective organizations.

  • Leads community outreach, charitable activities, and employee social programs together

  • with guidance from senior management.

HR/Operational roles and responsibilities (40%)

  • Leads and manages human resources operations by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, coaching, and counseling staff, while ensuring payroll and other related activities are run effectively.

  • Establishes the company Human Capital Management (HCM) / HR Information Systems (HRIS) solution strategy and partners with IT, Finance, and other internal partners to design and implement an integrated solution.

  • Leads and manages the HR team by providing day-to day guidance and direction.

  • Ensures the establishment of sound management practices, aligned with corporate, state and federal HR policy procedures and practices, while driving consistent decision-making processes across the lines of business.

  • Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

  • Assists senior management in the development of solutions through cultural and process perspective organizational development.

  • Partners with leadership to investigate, advise, and resolve employee relations issues through a systematic approach.

  • Works with Leadership Team members to generate policies or procedures to establish employee retention program.

Perform other duties as assigned and/or required, including corporate-level operational tasks. (10%)

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Requires Bachelor's degree or equivalent, advanced degree (Master's), in applicable field or equivalent field of study is preferred

  • PHR or SPHR designation and biotech industry experience is strongly preferred.

  • Requires a minimum of 10 years of HR experience, at least 3 of those years in a HR Business Partner and/or HR Manager role that includes the leadership of strategy and/or a team.

  • Requires comprehensive knowledge and experience in the entire employee life cycle, including, but not limited to recruitment, benefits administration, employee relations, leave of absence management, talent & performance management, employment law, and payroll.

  • Must have a strong knowledge of HR principles and procedures along with federal

  • and state laws and regulations.

  • Must have depth of technical knowledge in function derived from experience in non-management and middle management roles.

  • Must have highly developed skills in managing, motivating, and directing employee groups.

  • Requires a strong command of technology, specifically Human Capital Management / HRIS knowledge and expertise.

  •  including the ability to analyze and leverage data to drive sound business decisions.

  • Strategic and proactive thinker with ability to convert to actionable plans and execution across an organization.

  • Candidate must possess excellent verbal/written communication skills, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, project management skills as well as computer literacy in MS Outlook, Word and Excel.

  • Must be extremely organized, self-motivated, and capable of working in a rapidly changing environment with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of employees and management.

  • Must demonstrate the ability work independently and collaboratively with a team in a dynamic environment.

  • Must have a professional demeanor and the ability to maintain confidentiality at all times when dealing with personnel matters.
