With over 20 years of experience in innovation and global business development in fast-growing and highly technical industries, Byung Se provides the vision and leadership required to drive the future growth of Matica Bio as a global contract manufacturer of cell and gene therapies. Byung Se earned his B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering from Seoul National University and a Ph.D. in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is the primary inventor on more than 10 U.S. patents in semiconductor and computer technologies.
Prior to joining Matica Bio, Byung Se was an executive vice president of Samsung Electronics, serving the Samsung Semiconductor division. During his 24-year tenure, he held various engineering, business development, quality assurance and product planning positions focused on fostering innovation and creating new business models for growth.
